Jennings Mill Under New Ownership
It is with great pleasure that we announce that on July 2nd, Jennings Mill Country Club was successfully purchased by real estate investor Steven Schorr. The acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for the golf club, as he brings his vision to elevate the overall experience for members and guests alike.It is also noteworthy that Mr. Schorr also purchased Lane Creek Golf Club! While there is not a technical relationship between the two properties with regards to membership, there will inevitably be advantageous operational synergies which will aid both properties long term.

Our management team has already started working on a long-term plan which includes extensive capital projects and operating vision to further enhance the facility. Jennings Mill is a prized asset of the community, and we look forward to coordinating with Mr. Schorr to ensure the facility earns the brand of the best golf course in the area.
Steven Schorr has been involved in real estate as a developer and investor for more than 25 years and has built a sizable portfolio of both commercial and residential properties across the United States. To date, he has acquired a portfolio of 1 million square feet of retail, 100 million square feet of office and 340,000 square feet of industrial space.
Most recently, he has turned his attention to building a portfolio of quality golf and leisure assets. His first acquisition was Kenmure, a beautiful private club located in Flat Rock, North Carolina. His portfolio now consists of six courses including Kenmure, Waterford Golf Club in Rock Hill, SC, The Crossings Golf Club in Durham, NC, Meadow Oaks Golf Club in Hudson, FL and Jennings Mill and Lane Creek making up his portfolio thus far.
As part of his strategy and vision, Pinnacle Golf Properties has been retained to oversee the day-to-day operation of the facility. Pinnacle Golf Properties is based in Charlotte, NC and is involved in management activities at 18 golf courses throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and now Georgia. Pinnacle’s commitment to quality aligns seamlessly with ownership’s desire for Jennings Mill to serve as a premier golfing destination in the region.
Our team is very excited about our new owner and the vision moving forward. As details are finalized, we will communicate with our membership regarding plans and any operational changes. We do anticipate significant capital improvements, beginning with the irrigation system at the facility. “Jennings Mill is a tremendous asset but unfortunately the current conditions and operating standards do not meet my expectations. I look forward to working with the team to make sizeable improvements over the next few years. The facility did not get in the current condition overnight so I ask everyone’s patience as we begin restoring the facility to a level, we can all be proud of. It will take time, but I am excited to begin the process!” said Mr. Schorr in his most recent visit to the facility.
We want to recognize the entire staff who have worked tirelessly, this year particularly, with very limited resources. They have sacrificed time with family and even utilized personal resources for the benefit of the club. Thank you to all team members and we look forward to your leadership as we provide the necessary resources to bring Jennings Mill Country Club back to an elite level.
We would also like to personally thank all of you for helping to make Jennings Mill such a special place. We are thankful to be associated with such a wonderful group of club members whose loyalty and commitment continue to make Jennings Mill such a great family atmosphere.
